ETA Hand 2 Mind to review
Home Team Advantage® SUMMER Goal Achievement Packs. ETA hand2mind is
an Illinois-based company, (previously ETA/Cuisenaire) and is the
nation's leading provider of hands-on supplemental products for math,
science and literacy education.I checked out the link provided and thought, hey this seems interesting. Let's check it out. Once my Pack (1st grade) came in the mail I was so impressed with what I found. There are a ton of resources included. I have two parts that I really thought were fantastic. There is a 6 week calendar (in English & Spanish) that guides families (or tutors) in activities in reading, math, science and writing that they can do together.
The activities include lots of hands on materials and are easy to use. I have been using the Reading Rod Phonics Word building cubes with a student I am tutoring and she loves them. They keep her focused on her activity and she is enjoying learning. We also use the Reading Rod Phonics Word building Activity Flipbooks to help guide us through the activities we do with the cubes.
The description on the ETA Hand2Mind website describes this products as a way to "Prevent students from falling behind over the summer and accelerate preparation for the next grade by providing families with access to curriculum-based materials." The best thing about reviewing this is that ETA Hand2Mind is also providing one as a giveaway for one of my readers. YAY!!! To enter use the rafflecopter form below. Good luck! The giveaway will run from today (July 17, 2012) until Thursday (July 19, 2012).
I think the hands on common core looks like a good product.
